SOUTH COFFEYVILLE LIONS

Coach: DAVID PERKINS

0-10

OFFENSE

As coach David Perkins looks to rebuild the Lions football program, implementing a new system and getting players to buy in was the top priority entering the summer. Coach Perkins said several younger players took the field last season and that experience could be something the team can build on this season. “The team is young; most were forced into action last season before they were ready. I’m hopeful that the experience is something we can build on, I think there is lots of room for improvement and I believe we’ll be much better. I’m very excited about our future, I believe there is room for improvement, and we’ll get it done,” said Perkins. Ben Adock (5-10, 145, So.) returns at wide receiver with Jayden Liddell (5-11, 180, So.) at quarterback who may split time with Clayton Kawik (So.).

DEFENSE

Emmitt Hills (5-9, 180, So.) will start on the defensive line giving the Lions a player who can pressure the quarterback from the line of scrimmage. Gabe Arredondo (Jr.) joins Hills up front. This pair could spell trouble of opposing offensive lines. Jaxon Mustain (5-10, 145, Sr.) will shore up the secondary and should help the younger players mature into their roles. Mustain will also see time at running back on offense.
