2024 Dewey Football Preview – Presented by ConocoPhillips

DEWEY BULLDOGGERS

Coach: RYAN RICHARDSON

1-9

OFFENSE

The Bulldoggers enter this season ready to grow and learn from last season. Third-year head coach Ryan Richardson says that he is looking forward to seeing what his team can accomplish against some newer competition. “We are looking to take a step forward after playing a lot of underclassmen last year,” Richardson said. “With the move to Class 2A-1, we are primed to make a run at the playoffs.” Easton Davis (5-10, 170, Jr.) played wide receiver last season, but he is going to be called on to lead the offense from the quarterback position. He is a tremendous leader who thrives in the big moments and looks to have a big season in a new position. Joining him in the backfield will be Evan Propper (5-10, 200, Sr.) at running back. He is a smart kid that will do a solid job of finding the open running lanes. Making sure that Propper has space to run will be the beasts up front on the offensive line. Coke Ketcher (5-8, 200, Sr.), Joseph Magness (6-0, 230, Sr.), and Lloyd Goad (6-0, 225, Sr.) will anchor the offensive line and keep the defense at bay.

DEFENSE

On the defensive side, the Bulldoggers will be led by outstanding talent that will look to get pressure on the offense and force them to make mistakes. Leading the charge will be a group of tough and physical linebackers. Eddie Rice (5-10, 175, Jr.), Parker Garrison (5-9, 175, Jr.), and Ketcher will look to be ready to get to the ball, no matter what the offense throws their way. Propper will see time at both linebacker and defensive end, wherever his team needs him. Patrolling the secondary will be Layne Gastel (6-0, 175, Jr.) and Davis, both at safety. Assistant coaches for Dewey this season are Grant Elerick, Scott Benne, and Kevin Wood.
