OFFENSE
The semifinal loss to Hooker HS is still on the minds of the Hominy faithful, but the players and coaches are focused on the task at hand, which is making the most of the 2024 season and the opportunity in front of them. Head coach Caleb Christian is excited to see what this team will look like come playoff time. “Great mixture of seasoned players and young players that have the potential of stepping up,” said Christian. Six starters are back on offense including Elijah Hughes (6-3, 170, Sr.) who scored 14 TDs last season and is the go-to wide out in the spread/pro-style offense. Hughes is a four-sport athlete at Hominy HS. Blaine Hipp (6-5, 205, Jr.) is back at quarterback giving the Bucks a dual threat QB. Hipp can throw it when needed or tuck and run. Last season Hipp accounted for 1,038 all-purpose yards. Running back Randee Goodeagle (6-0, 190, Jr.) added 568 yards rushing and will shoulder the load in the run game.
DEFENSE
A pair of linebackers in Havyn Warnke (6-4, 200, Sr.) and Christian Roland (5-9, 195, Sr.) are sideline-to-sideline players who swarm the football. Last season Roland accounted for 103 tackles. Look for Warnke to see time on offense at tight end, while Roland will play fullback. Goodeagle is the third piece of the puzzle at linebacker. Elijah Gilley (6-2, 265, Sr.) anchors the defensive line alongside JR Lookout (6-6, 275, Jr.) who notched 53 tackles last year. The secondary features the talented Tahnakah Supernaw (6-1, 165, Sr.) who made six INTs as a junior. Hughes and Hipp also start in the secondary giving the Bucks one of the top defensive backfields in the class. Coach Christian said the defense plays to the strengths of the players and he expects them to play fast and physical. The coaching staff consists of Ed Green, Hunter Woods, Chace Green, Tanner King, Vance Miller, and Brian Miller.
