OUTLOOK
In his 17th season, head coach Deric Longan is excited to return his team from last season.
“We return our entire team from last year. With a few new additions, I look for this to be an exciting year. We are still relatively young, but this group of girls loves to compete,” coach Longan said.
Presley Smith (So.), a VYPE Top 100 selectee, averaged 13.2 points as a freshman from her guard spot last season, while Abby Daigle (Sr.) accounted for 7.4 points. Add Adesta Henry (So.) who averaged 9.5 points and 8.4 rebounds a game, and you have the nucleus of a team that can put up some points.
Other players to watch include Sydni Brown (Jr.) at forward who averaged 6.3 points and 5.5 rebounds, Jocelyn Chancellor (Sr.), Jaycee Tant (Jr.), Roxy Hawkins (So.), Faith Davis (So.), Harper Watts (Fr.) and Khloe Crawford (Fr.). Hawkins put in 7.0 points and 5.1 steals per contest last year. Henry was named team MVP last year as a freshman.
This should be an exciting group to watch this year.
