2025 Dewey Bulldoggers Football Preview – Presented by ConocoPhillips

DEWEY BULLDOGGERS

Coach: RYAN RICHARDSON

2-8

OFFENSE

Dewey head coach Ryan Richardson is implementing new philosophies on both sides of the ball this season and he is excited to see his senior class respond. “Looking to bounce back with a strong senior class and an overhaul of new offensive and defensive philosophies. The Doggers are looking to build on a strong finish from last season and be far more competitive within our schedule,” said coach Richardson. The coaching staff includes Grant Elerick – OC, Scott Sapulpa – DC, Kevin Wood – O-Line/OLB, Stephen Mitchell – O-Line/ D-Line, and Coby Prather – WR/LB. The coaches are excited to have a guy like Easton Davis (5-9, 175, Sr.) starting on both sides of the ball. A four-year starter, Davis played QB last season but will return to his natural spot at wide receiver. This season is setting up to be his most productive for the Doggers. Jayden Vallen (5-9, 165, Sr.) and Cayden Artherton (6-0, 170, Sr.) will give the team a triple threat at WR. The offense will base out of an 11 personnel package, running quick hitter plays while suing the entire field vertically and horizontally. A key player in the overall success of the offense will fall to the offensive line and Kaiden Fowler (5-10, 195, Sr.).

DEFENSE

Eight starters are back on the defensive side of the ball for the Doggers. Davis will start in the secondary giving the team a smart, physical player with loads of experience. Fellow senior Layne Gastel (6-1, 170, Sr.) will join Davis in the secondary at free safety giving the team some speed in the backfield. Also look for Kavery Weathers (5-9, 160, So.) who started all eight games at corner last season as a freshman. Weathers has shown he is a dependable player and is taking on more leadership this season. The linebacker corps will feature Nate Sloan (5-10, 185, Sr.) and Eddie Rice (6-0, 185, Sr.), two players who move well in traffic and play a physical brand of football. The line will spotlight Kaiden Fowler who will go both ways in the trenches. Look for younger players to develop into every-down type guys on the line this season as the staff implements a mix of odd and even fronts. “We are going to play hot, physical, and with relentless effort until the echo of the whistle,” said coach Richardson.
