Energy will not be a problem in Dewey this fall. After going 4-6 in 2025, head coach Scott Sapulpa enters his second season expecting a group that can play with tempo and toughness from kickoff to the final horn. “Excited to start our new season,” Sapulpa said. “High energy for four quarters.” With experience returning across the board and a clear identity on both sides of the ball, the Bulldoggers are eager to make a jump in 2026.
On offense, Dewey will spread the field, but everything still runs through a physical ground game. Quarterback Braxton Braden (5-10, 165) returns to direct the attack, surrounded by a veteran offensive line that should clear lanes for multiple backs. Up front, tackle Tucker Williams (6-2, 235), guard William Lawrence (6-0, 230) and center Pierce Butler (5-11, 225) give Dewey size and experience to lean on in the run-first scheme. In the skill group, running back Fenix Bolding (5-10, 165) brings toughness and downhill speed after emerging as a key playmaker last season, while wide receiver Marshal McDaniel (6-1, 165) stretches the field as an outside target. With eight offensive starters back, Dewey’s goal is to wear down defenses and finish long, physical drives.
Defensively, the Bulldoggers return nine starters in a 3-3-5 structure that allows them to fly to the ball and attack from all angles. Bolding is a centerpiece at linebacker after leading the district in tackles, setting the standard with his work ethic and physical play. He’s joined by Williams off the edge, where his length and motor help disrupt opposing backfields. Linebackers Case Rogers (5-10, 165) and Mason Spears (6-1, 210) provide more stability in the second level, while Butler plugs the middle at nose. With a defense full of experienced, high-character “dudes,” as Sapulpa calls them, Dewey expects to match its offensive mindset with four quarters of relentless pursuit.
