Archer Swisher Talks Football & Lifting – Presented by Tulsa Bone & Joint

When Archer Swisher started playing football in elementary school, playing at the varsity level was just a dream. Like most kids, Swisher grew up watching the games on Friday night and hoping to one day make that dream come true.

Now a junior, Swisher said the team is growing and working hard to become the team they feel they can be.

“I started football in 5th grade. I’ve known it’s been the sport for me since I could walk, it’s always been the goal for me to play football for as long as I was able,” Swisher said. “This season was challenging for me, especially since I got moved around so much. Even so, I worked to make the best with what I was given. One positive I’ve seen from the team is our willingness to work through adversity.”

Swisher also competes in track and Olympic lifting.

“If you want to be academic state champions, come to Bartlesville. Also, we have an amazing lifting coach in coach West,” said Swisher.

For the junior, being around his teammates and competing with them is the highlight.

“I’ve loved the good friendships I’ve been able to build with my teammates here,” Swisher said. “Daeton Stevens keeps everyone laughing and Mason Manley is a very serious person.”

Swisher said a family member is a source of inspiration.

“My Uncle Derrick has always inspired me to be an overall better athlete.”

After high school, Swisher plans to serve a two-year mission trip for his church before going to college to become a chiropractor. When he has some free time, you can usually find him watching a movie or spending time with his friends.
