BARTLESVILLE LADY BRUINS
Coach: Justyn Shaw
23-24 Record: 12-13
OUTLOOK
After a trip to the playoffs, the Lady Bruins and head coach Justyn Shaw are poised for another good season with the return of a few key players.
“We finished the 2023-24 season at 12-13 and the first playoff win since 2017, first double-digit win season since 2018. The Lady Bruins are looking to build off last year’s run and make some noise in 6A District 4. We return four starters from last year and one new addition to the squad in 6-foot junior forward Sami Sheaffer,” said Shaw.
A three-level scorer, Sami Sheaffer (6-0, Jr.) joins the squad bringing her 18.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.0 steals per contest. Sheaffer currently has multiple offers at the DII level. Alayah Lunn (5-7, Sr.) is a combo guard who brings the energy to the floor. Lunn is a scoring threat averaging 7.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. Lunn and Sheaffer will not need to do it alone. Kennedy Nubel (6-0, Sr.) will play center/forward where she averaged 4.8 points and 4.0 rebounds a game last season.
“ ”Emma Zimmerman (5-8, Jr.) is a combo guard who averaged 6.8 points with 3.4 rebounds a game last season. Zimmerman is solid on both ends of the court. Also look for Adrianne Flick (5-9, Sr.) in the post. Flick brings toughness to the floor and is talented enough to step inside and help defensively and grab rebounds.
Cadence Gray (5-8, Jr.) found her way to the court as a sophomore and will help the Lady Bruins again this season. Gray can play guard or forward giving coach Shaw a versatile player contribute on both ends of the court.
Other players to watch include Justyce Jones (5-6, Jr.), Miley Allen (5-9, Jr.), Erin Bridendolph (5-8, Fr.), Addison Jones (5-6, Fr.), and Jaylin Manley (5-9, Fr.).
