Bartlesville’s Aisley Keirsey
For Aisley, volleyball has already become a major part of her life. Although she’s just starting high school, she’s been playing for about three years, which has given her time to grow as a player and teammate.
When asked who has had the biggest influence on her life, she states.
“My mom, for sure,” she said. “She goes through such hard things, but she still does whatever she can to make me feel better, both mentally and physically.” That strength and support has shaped her on and off the court.
In the classroom, math is her favorite subject.
“Sometimes I don’t always get what we’re doing, but when I do, it’s so fun,” she explained. She also enjoys Oklahoma History with her favorite teacher, Mr. Jenner. “He tells stories so well that it makes me actually want to learn.”
Apart from volleyball Aisley is involved in golf. She is a dual sport athlete. She credits Marissa Demuth as her inspiration to play.
“She just had such high energy, and when I saw her playing during my first club season, I knew I wanted to keep playing volleyball.”
When it comes to serving, she prefers a standing serve because it gives her more accuracy. She also looks up to her teammates and how they push each other.
“I always see Sophie Frye on the floor, she’s always pressuring the ball no matter what,” she said. She also highlighted Cera Federico as one of the most impressive teammates this season. “She brings the energy on the court all the time, and she can do everything from hitting to passing.”
The toughest gym she’s played in so far is Regent.
“The top is all black and the ceilings are low, which makes it so hard,” she said.
What she loves most about volleyball is how easy it is to get along with her teammates. “They’re just so friendly.”
