
We caught up with the multi-sport freshman to find out what he’s enjoyed about his first year competing at the varsity level and who inspires him to compete.
VYPE: Rhett, what sports did you compete in this year for BHS?
Rhett Pendley: Football (defensive end) and basketball (center, power forward, small forward).
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?
RP: Discipline pays off.
VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?
RP: Playing varsity football as a freshman and having 16 points against Bixby in basketball.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
RP: My big brother Trey inspires me to work hard and hit the weight room.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
RP: My TE Boden Roberts he has just been a good teammate and someone I can look up to.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
RP: Getting to be a part of teams where the people on the team want it as bad as me.
VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
RP: Thanks to God for everything I have thanks to my family for always supporting me and thanks to my coaches for helping me get to the point I am at today.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
RP: My English teacher from this year Mrs. Daniels.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
RP: Don’t worry about other people just keep working and it will work itself out.
