Dewey’s Aubree Bellar- Athlete Spotlight- Presented by Keller Williams Realty

Dewey High School sophomore Aubree Bellar embraces the responsibility that comes with competing in multiple roles for the Bulldog softball program.

Bellar plays third base and pitches for Dewey, contributing defensively while continuing to sharpen the offensive part of her game. She values the daily opportunity to compete beside teammates and learn from coaches.

“I am playing 3rd base and pitching, and my favorite thing about being on the team is being around my teammates and coaches and the fact that I get to play softball every day,” Bellar said.

As part of a smaller roster, Bellar says the team’s size has helped create a connected culture. Every player’s effort matters, and the group depends on its chemistry as much as its individual ability.

“What I love most about my teammates at Dewey is that there is not many of us so we have to be a very close and tight knit group,” Bellar said.

Bellar considers defense a strength and remains focused on becoming a more complete player at the plate. Her commitment to steady improvement reflects lessons she carried forward from last season.

“I feel that I am a good defender and am constantly working to improve my offensive game,” Bellar said.

For Bellar, the season also carries special meaning because of the team’s seniors. She hopes Dewey can compete with purpose and make their final high school season memorable.

“I am most excited about playing as hard as possible to make our seniors last year a good one,” Bellar said.

She credits her older sister as an important source of motivation and admires teammate Kyla Overton for her talent and work ethic. Along with softball, Bellar runs track for Dewey. After graduation, she plans to attend college and major in psychology.
