By all accounts, Brooklyn Miles’ freshman year was a success.
“I had the opportunity to step into a leadership role early and help our team go 22-5 on the season,” said Miles, who averaged 15.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 5.3 steals and 4.8 assists for the Pawhuska High School Huskies. “We were 2024 Cleveland Blue Sky Invitational champions, 2025 Morrison Mike Kerr Classic champions, 2025 Pawhuska Invitational champions, 2025 district champions and 2025 regional runners-up.”
Also a standout softball player and track-runner, her freshman year also resulted in a softball All-District and All-Academic nod, a third-place finish in the 200m and a fifth-place finish in the 400m. After an incredible debut season, she received offers from Tulsa, ORU, Wichita State and others.
“To be recognized by programs like those this early means a lot to me,” Miles said. “It reminds me that the hard work really does pay off the extra hours in the gym, the studying, and the sacrifices. It motivates me to keep working even harder, to stay humble, and to represent my family, teammates, coaches and community the right way.”
Her excellence doesn’t stop there. Miles also serves as president of Pawhuska’s FCA chapter. Student council treasurer, coaches youth cheer and basketball and maintains a 4.0 GPA.
“My faith and family come first. Everything I do on or off the court is rooted in my belief that God has a plan for me,” Miles said. “I try to stay grounded, be coachable, and make the people around me better. I’m competitive, but I’m also big on kindness and respect.”
She also credits her youth pastor, Geoff Riddle, as well as other religious leaders for encouraging her spiritual journey.
“I hope people remember me as someone who worked hard, treated others with respect, and always tried to make a positive impact,” Miles said. “You can be the president of a club or the star player on a sports team that starts every game, but without God leading your life, being a good person, and being a servant leader none of the other things really matter. I want to remind others to dream big, chase big goals, always work hard, and make the people around you better.”
