OUTLOOK
The Longhorns and head coach Clyde Barkley return three starters and nine lettermen according to Barkley. Several players return who accounted for much of the scoring from a season ago.
Caden Thompson (6-1, Sr.) averaged 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds from his guard spot last season. Thompson is part of a trio of players who were named to the VYPE Top 100 list this season. Caleb Helling (6-2, Sr.), a forward, and Travis Weast (5-10, Sr.) at guard, were all named to the preseason list. Helling averaged 10.5 points and 7.5 rebounds while Weast knocked down 5.5 points last season.
Charlie Castleman (6-0, Jr.) is another guard who can find the hoop and add points to the scoreboard. Castleman averaged 4.5 points per game last year and is someone who coach Barkley can count on for quality minutes on the floor. Also look for Jaxon Dark (6-0, Sr.) at guard and Aidan Shaefer (6-1, Sr.) at forward as players who can enter the game and give some quality minutes.
Other players to watch include Deior Seig (5-11, Jr.) at forward, Zane Howard (6-0, Sr.) at forward, Jase Hobbs (5-9, Sr.) at guard, Easton Hallman (5-9, Fr.) at guard, Jaxon Miller (5-5, So.) at guard, Gavin Roundtree (6-2, So.) at center, Beau Brewer (5-10, So.) at guard, Jeremiah Fraye (6-0, So.) at forward, Zane Gregory (6-0, So.) at center, Henry Myers (5-5, So.) at guard, Ryland Mora (5-10, Jr.) at guard and Jenner Estes (6-1, Sr.) at forward.
