Pryor returns to the diamond this spring with experience, depth and expectations after last season’s run to the Class 5A semifinals. Head coach Gerald Osborne believes that blend gives the Tigers a chance to contend again in District 5A-4.
“We are excited for the ’26 season,” Osborne said. “We return several key contributors from last year’s semifinal team. Key returners are Jaron Bailey, Gavin Roberts, Treyce Crawford, Carter Sloan, Clinton Stohler along with transfers Daniel Harrington and Eli Swarer will give us an experienced club.”
On the mound, Pryor will lean on senior right-hander Jaron Bailey, a 5A-4 All-District pitcher who went 6-2 with a 1.47 ERA last season. Bailey will be joined by newcomer Daniel Harrington, a transfer who was the 5A-4 District Pitcher of the Year in 2025 and has committed to Connors State. That one-two punch gives the Tigers proven arms at the top of the rotation as they navigate a demanding district schedule.
Offensively, the Tigers bring back several middle-of-the-order bats who have already produced at the varsity level. Junior second baseman Treyce Crawford returns after hitting .287 with 21 RBIs a year ago, solidifying the infield and the top half of the lineup. Fellow junior Carter Sloan, an all-district selection in 2025, hit .306 with two home runs last season and will again be counted on as a run producer.
Junior third-year starter Clinton Stohler brings both consistency and power, coming off a season in which he hit .302 and led the team with 35 RBIs. Gavin Roberts, who will be a four-year starter and was the 5A-4 District Player of the Year in 2025, also returns and has committed to Connors State, giving Pryor another proven leader in the lineup.
The Tigers added another key piece in senior utility player Eli Swarer, a transfer who has signed with Seminole State. Swarer’s versatility should allow Osborne to move pieces around defensively while keeping an experienced bat in the order. Sophomore Dax Thompson is another name to watch; Osborne describes him as a talented, hard-working player with a chance to be very good before his career is over.
Pryor’s roster is rounded out by high-character competitors such as multi-sport standout Jackson Mavers, whom Osborne calls the ultimate team player. With a core of decorated returners, impact transfers and emerging underclassmen, the Tigers enter 2026 positioned to build on last year’s success and chase another deep postseason run.
