A two-way starter for Colcord High School, Khaleeal Penn is turning heads and making coaches at the next level take notice. Not only is he tough to handle on the field, but he’s developed into a great leader.
“It means a lot to be a big leader on my team I want to be not just the vocal leader but the leader that leads by example,” said Penn.
An offensive and defensive lineman, Penn is solid at both positions, but many feel he is one of the top defensive linemen in the area.
“I prefer playing defense,” said Penn. “I enjoy being able to go out and play every Friday with my teammates with the whole town behind us no matter what. I love that they all work hard for me, and I work as hard as I can for them and they have my back just like I have there’s,” said Penn.
Penn said he has been impressed with his teammates in spring ball and summer workouts.
“Alec Pearson and Geo Acosta have really impressed me they have been working there butts off and they’re becoming big leaders to the team.”
Outside of football, Penn also plays basketball and throws shot for the track team. In the classroom, Penn said his favorite teacher is Jeri Kindle and Mr. Cherry.
“Mr. Cherry really has impacted my life be pushing me in the classroom and teaching me how to study and trying to get me ready for college. I plan to go to college and play football and major in general education and become a coach.” In his free time, Penn said he enjoys playing video games and working on his craft.
