Kansas’ Lorelai Pilcher
Being a three-sport athlete is not easy, but student-athletes like Lorelai Pilcher can sometimes make it look easy.
The basketball, softball and track athlete said she loves competing side-by-side with her teammates and representing Kansas High School.
“I love the chemistry that we have on and off the court. We can be serious, but we also know how to have fun. We always have each others backs and encourage each other,” Pilcher said. “I love Kansas because of the relationships I have with my teammates and how supportive all of my coaches are. The teachers understand when we have to miss, and the Kansas fans are the best.”
Only a sophomore, Pilcher started playing basketball when she was in the fourth grade. On the court, Pilcher is skillful in all areas, but like many great athletes, she continues to work on her game.
“I’ve improved on driving and my confidence in my ability to handle the ball,” said Pilcher.
Aside from sports, Pilcher also spends time with the Beta Club, FCA, Indian Club and the Drama Club. When she does get some down time, she knows exactly how to spend it.
“During my down time, my family and I enjoy watching WWE. It’s something that we all enjoy and have fun doing together,” said Pilcher.
Pilcher said she is most proud of competing in the 800-meters at the state track meet her freshman year and said she hopes to one day attend college and major in Biology.
