Cindy Chupp
Pryor High School
Anyone living in Northeast Oklahoma is probably familiar with the Chupp name. Cindy Chupp, a mother of four also volunteers her time with several of her kid’s school activities.
Daniel Chupp is a junior at College of the Ozarks in Hollister, MO. Nevaeh Chupp is a freshman at Pryor High School. She plays softball, basketball, and runs track. Emmet Chupp is in the 8th grade at Pryor Middle School. He plays football, basketball and runs track. Tye Chupp is in the 7th grade at Pryor Middle School. He plays football, basketball, and baseball. Nevaeh, Emmet, and Tye are 4H members and show dairy heifers at the Mayes County Fair. The family has exhibited the Supreme Dairy Heifer for the last 17 years. To say they are busy is an understatement.
For Cindy, volunteering is more than just donating her time.
“It’s such an honor to be able to lead the Pryor Softball Club. I’m currently in my second year of serving as president. One of my favorite things about volunteering is getting to know the coaches and players on a more personal level; as well as the workforce behind me,” Cindy said. “I’m super thankful for Kalinda Bennett, Tina Kerr, Mike Vance, and Coach Chell Looney who make the Pryor Softball Club run so smoothly. It’s truly a blessing to be a part of an organization who cares so much about our coaching staff and our softball girls.”
Cindy is the founding member of the Pryor Middle School Parent Panel, which treats middle school teachers and staff throughout the school year with food and surprises. Her responsibilities are many.
“I’m probably best known for the mom who brings chocolate chip cookies or is asking a coach for the key to the concession stand. I can be found making a run to Sam’s Club or sharing game info on Pryor Softball Club’s Facebook page. My most important job is making sure the coaches and players have what they need to be successful,” said Cindy.
Cindy feels parents should be involved in their kids’ activities.
“The more parent volunteers we have, the less we all have to do. Volunteering my time and teaching my children to give back is an important characteristic I like to demonstrate. I hope when my kids grow up, they remember that I was always there lending a helping hand,” said Cindy.
A graduate of Chouteau High School, Cindy and husband Stanley, together with family, own Chupps Auction Company and Chupps Farm.
“Stanley and I adopted our first child Daniel in 2011 and then added three additional children, Nevaeh, Emmet, and Tye, to our home making us a party of six. Our family attends Zion Mennonite Church in Pryor, Oklahoma. When my kids aren’t playing ball, I love to travel. My favorite thing to do is hike to a waterfall.”
