Pryor’s Gage LeFrere
In only his second year of running track, Pryor High School’s Gage LeFrere said he is enjoying the competition and being around his teammates, but there have been a few challenges along the way.
“Competing against older and more technical runners is a challenge,” LeFrere said. “I’ve only been to two meets, but definitely the Pryor meet is my favorite. I won the 100-meters for my school and that felt great to do it at home.”
LeFrere also participates in football, basketball and soccer. He said one of his strengths is his ability to get the motor running quickly.
“ ”“My burst is my strength and I really need to work on my technique. I’m very new to track,” said LeFrere.
LeFrere said the support he and the track team receive from coaches, parents and fans is great and he appreciates everything they do for the team. LeFrere said he finds inspiration in his faith through Jesus Christ.
Academics are important to LeFrere as well. He recently applied to become a member of National Honor Society and one day hopes to attend college where he may play college football. For now, LeFrere is competing in the 100-meters and the 4X100 relay and is excited to represent the Pryor Tigers.
