23-24 Record: 11-14

OUTLOOK

Things are looking up for the Eagles of Afton entering the new season. Head coach Bryson Cottrell said the team is putting in the work and the excitement is building.

“We are excited for the upcoming season. The guys are looking forward to improving on last season with some new faces as well as some returning veterans to lead them along the way,” said Cottrell.

Aiden Victor (5-11, So.) is a VYPE Top 100 selectee and someone the Afton faithful will love seeing on the court this season. Victor will look to lead the offense giving the Eagles someone who can score from all three levels. A pair of seniors bring leadership and experience to the floor this season. Brady Robinson (Sr.) and Zander Mace (Sr.) are two multi-sport athletes who bring quickness and energy to the court. Mace can play either point or shooting guard.

Several sophomores will make an impact this season. Blake Ford (So.) brings toughness to the team while Ricky Barton (So.) will look to bring physicality to the center or power forward spot. Both players are important pieces of the puzzle for coach Cottrell.

Also look for Kendall Landrum (6-1, So.) and Griffin Robinson (So.) at forward. Landrum and Robinson can both play the small and the power spots. Landrum and Robinson are threats to score inside or outside and give the offense the ability to stretch the floor thanks to their ability to get up and down the court.

Another tough schedule will be a challenge for the Eagles, but coach Cottrell and the players are embracing the challenge and looking forward to competing this season.
