AFTON LADY EAGLES

Coach: Tom Hubbard

23-24 Record: 22-5

OUTLOOK

Coming off a great campaign last year that witnessed the Lady Eagles make it to the Area Tournament and post 22 wins on the season, head coach Tom Hubbard takes the helm and is looking to steer the ship back to post season play.

“This team was district champs, consolation champs and went 7-0 in league play last season,” said Hubbard.

Abigail Osterberger and Gracie Cook – Afton High School

The Lady Eagles return two starters from that group and their experience at guard could prove to be the cornerstone of a great season. Abigail Osterberger (5-7, Sr.) and Gracie Cook (5-6, Jr.) both have the ability to be leaders for Afton this season. Their play could set the tone for the team as they look to find their groove.

Returning letterman include Elianna Sanders (5-6, Sr.) at guard, Hannah Ferris (5-8, Jr.) at forward, and Katee Shouse (5-8, So.) at forward. Expect these three to see ample playing time as coach Hubbard works the lineup to find the right fit. All three players are capable of contributing offensively.

A salty group of freshmen have arrived and are looking to make their presence felt. Five underclassmen dot the roster and could be factors for the Lady Eagles. The group includes Shealynn Adams (5-7, Fr.) at guard, Calle Chastain (5-3, Fr.) at guard, Melanea Sanders (5-5, Fr.) at point guard, Cashlyn Todd (5-7, Fr.) at guard, and Brynlee Victor (5-7, Fr.) at guard.
