Claremore’s Bryson Hall – Football Spotlight

By Bryce McKinnis

Claremore High School senior Bryson Hall has quietly become one of the area’s most unguardable receivers and one of its most unforgiving defensive backs.

“The game of football has taught me how important the details are, because if you do the little things, it sets up the big things,” said Hall, who has also appeared in the 5A state track meet for both hurdles two years in-a-row. “I started playing football in first grade, and what motivated me was my dad, because he’s my role model and the person I want to be.”

The small details add up to big results, and it’s Hall’s position that this philosophy should not only apply in his athletic endeavors but every aspect of his life. He’s also a young man of immense faith and leadership.

“In school, I’m a part of FCA and STUCO. I love FCA because I’m surrounded by people who know God and are trying to walk the same path as me,” Hall said. “I’m in STUCO because I want to be involved in my school and help all I can, also setting examples for other students. I like to help volunteer coaching youth football off the field, because I want to influence the future Zebras of Claremore.”

Hall is the epitome of the culture set at CHS by head coach Jarrett Hurt. “Resilient” is a common word used to describe Hall, whose pride comes from his sense of community.

“Running on the field and seeing the whole town of Claremore supporting and cheering for us, it’s like going to war,” Hall said. “That’s why I bounce back after mistakes or tough plays. I always want to improve myself.”

Because of that resilience, buy-in and unmistakable talent, Hall is in position to realize his life-long dream of playing at the collegiate level. He recently received his first offer from Hendrix College (Conway, Ark.) and expects to finish his senior season strong.

“My faith is a stabilizing factor in my life,” Hall said. “I believe my lord is guiding and sustaining me every step of my journey.”

After college, Hall plans to practice physical therapy at a hospital or college, “helping make peoples’ lives better.”
