Grove’s Holly Brice
VYPE: What goals do you have for this year in soccer?
Holly Brice: My goals for this year are to truly enjoy the last high school season and hopefully make a run at the playoffs. But overall, I just want to enjoy this season with some of my best friends and make some good memories.
VYPE: What has soccer taught you that you use in your daily life?
HB: Soccer has taught me that if I’m going to do something, give it my best. It has also taught me to enjoy the little moments just as much as the big ones.
VYPE: What’s your favorite shoe to use in soccer?
HB: My favorite cleats honestly were my orange pumas that I wore last season.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
HB: Jesus is one of my inspirational figures for many reasons because of his teachings of love, compassion, forgiveness, and selflessness. His message of treating others with kindness. I would also say my mom and dad. Their strength and selflessness have always inspired me.
“ ”VYPE: What do you think is the biggest challenge in soccer?
HB: The biggest challenge for me is that I went onto the soccer field never knowing how to play, I was terrified, so getting over that fear of a new sport and constantly worrying about failure was my biggest challenge and still is.
VYPE: What do you think makes a great soccer player?
HB: Work ethic, being a good teammate, loving the sport, and honestly being passionate about the sport.
VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
HB: I would say out of my family I’m the best athlete just because I’m the only one who has played multiple sports throughout high school.
VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?
HB: Definitely volleyball. I have always loved playing it like with friends or family, but our school doesn’t have it.
VYPE: What’s your go-to pregame song?
HB: Either “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen or any ABBA song.
