OUTLOOK

There is good reason for the Ketchum faithful to be excited for the upcoming season. Head coach Sam Banker said the team is poised for another solid season.

“We’re very excited about the upcoming season. We return a lot of experience along with some new young guys that will step into important roles for us. It’s a great mixture of guys with different skillsets and we should be able to jell into a really good basketball team,” said Banker.

Justin Johnson (5-9, Sr.) is a VYPE Top 100 selectee and the point guard for the Warriors. Last season he averaged 9.4 points, 4.8 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Johnson is a true point guard according to coach Banker.

“He’s a floor general. He makes sure everything runs smoothly. He has great leadership skills along with being a really good player also. He takes pride in being good on both ends of the floor,” said Banker.

CJ Weeks (6-2, Sr.) starts at forward where he averaged 9.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots per contest last year. Weeks is a high-energy guy and solid shot blocker. Landon Beisley (6-0, Sr.) joins Weeks at forward giving the Warriors two guys who play hard on both ends of the court. Beisley takes on average two charges a game and usually guards larger players.

Gabe Callison (5-10, So.) is an exciting young guard who shoots the three well and has a strong work ethic. Callison is expected to help the team immediately this season. Adam Banker (5-7, So.) is a gym rat who spends countless hours on his game.

Other players to watch this season include Lance Andrews (6-0, Sr.), Logan Beisley (5-10, So.), Gracian Jones (6-1, Fr.), Cannon Knoten (6-3, Jr.), Cooper Austin (5-10, Jr.), David McGimpsey (5-11, Fr.), and Cooper Chandler (5-9, Fr.).

Another 20-win season is in the cards for the Warriors as coach Banker looks to his starting five and the bench for quality minutes this season.
