On Track with Claremore’s Annalesia Miller – Presented by Backwoods Chiropractic

The definition of a high school athlete is different today than what we knew just a few years ago. Students are involved in many other activities outside the legacy sports like basketball, football, track, softball and others. Today’s high school athlete participates in many other activities. That can be said for Claremore’s Annalesia Miller.

Miller is a sophomore and a typical student, with the exception of throwing a sprint car into a corner and driving around her opponents on the high side of the track. Miller is the first female in the “restrictor” class at Port City Raceway to win a championship. A big accomplishment for this high school athlete.

“I am also proud of how much me and my dad have overcome these past two years from fighting car problems to trying to figure out how to get the money to race we always figured it out,” said Miller.

It’s a family affair for the Millers who love to race and spend time at the track. It’s something that attracted Miller at a young age.

“I really enjoy spending the time with my dad, and just the environment that comes with racing is amazing. The people are kind and always willing to lend a hand no matter the person. I also enjoy the peace that comes with being in a car, when I put my helmet on and tighten my belts everything else goes quiet and it’s just me, my car and the racetrack,” said Miller.

This upcoming season, Miller is running a 600cc A-Class micros in the Wing-A class and Stock non-wing divisions. That’s a step up and a challenge Miller is looking forward to. Miller said she finds inspiration from her father.

“If I could pick any driver to look up to it would be my dad, he has taught me everything I know, and I’ve grown up watching him race,” Miller said. “Honestly the people around me inspire me, my family back home in Arizona and here in Oklahoma all push me to be the best I can be on and off the track!”

To put the race car on the track, it takes sponsors like Backwoods Chiropractic and others to make it happen. Miller said there are plenty of people to be thankful for.

“I would like to thank my mom, my dad, Lance, and Kari Gleason, the Moseley’s, the Mullers and Coyote Race Cars, Backwoods Chiropractic, Sweet Cyn Bakery, Highline Clothing Co. | Highline Racing Co., Australian Outback Plants, Adobe Mountain Speedway, Adobe Mountain Speedway Track Crew, Blud Lubricants, Forty Nine Motorsports, Top Side Designs, N Saine Graphics, Carrier Racing Engines, Design Mechanical Inc., Lumber Lounge and Garage for the support and partnership!”

One day her time as a high school student will come to an end. Miller said she is working towards a career in the medical field, but if racing works out, that could be a professional career path as well.

“My plan right now is to also become a nurse, but the main priority and goal is to continue racing as long as I can. I am currently in a medical assistant class so I would definitely say that one is my current favorite,” said Miller.
