Q&A with Afton’s Griffin Robinson
VYPE: Griffin, what makes being on this team special and what do you love most about your teammates at Afton HS?
Griffin Robinson: We’ve all grown up playing sports together from a very young age and we work well together as a team and trust each other.
VYPE: What grade are you in this year?
GR: I am a junior.
VYPE: Is there a player you like to model your game after?
GR: Yadier Molina – the best catcher in baseball.
VYPE: Who inspires you on or off the field?
GR: My brother Brady because he pushes me to compete and get better in whatever sport I’m in.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite teacher in school and a favorite subject?
GR: Favorite teacher Mr. Sanders and my favorite subject is Math.
VYPE: What’s the best advice you received as a student-athlete?
GR: “Swing hard in case you hit the ball.”
VYPE: What other activities are you involved in at school and what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
GR: I play basketball, baseball, and I’m in National Honor Society and FCA. In my free time I like to go hunting and fishing.
VYPE: Which teammates keeps everyone laughing and which teammate is the most vocal?
GR: Jackson Crippen keeps everyone laughing and I think we are all pretty vocal when we need to be and communicate well as a team.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate from high school?
GR: I would like to go to college and play baseball.
