Ketchum’s Gabe Forkner
VYPE: Gabe, what grade are you in this season and when did you start playing baseball?
Gabe Forkner: I’m a senior I started playing at the age of four.
VYPE: What position are you playing and what are your biggest challenges?
GF: Third base and pitcher. My biggest challenge is not allowing errors or strikeouts get the best of me and just move on.
VYPE: What would you say are your strengths and what have you improve on the most?
GF: My strength is knowing situations before it happens, and I have improved on hitting the ball where it is thrown.
VYPE: What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at KHS?
GF: The environment of playing for a great coach along with playing with the same kids I grew up with makes for a great time.
VYPE: What does the support you receive mean to you?
GF: The support means that I know I have people who care for me and want to see me go somewhere.
VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?
GF: What I love lost about my teammates is the compassion they have towards winning.
VYPE: What accomplishment are you most proud of as an athlete?
GF: Signing to go play college ball with the University of Ottawa and making my parents proud and showing them who I can be.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
GF: Roger Swafford inspires me off the field from hearing him give me advice to showing me what I do wrong and showing me how to fix it.
