TULSA, OK (January 24th, 2025) – VYPE Magazine and Shelter Insurance are proud to announce the winner of the 2024 Mr. Football Oklahoma Award is Nate Roberts of Washington High School. Roberts becomes the thirteenth player to win the coveted award and the first player from Washington High School.
The Shelter Insurance Mr. Football Oklahoma Award recognizes the outstanding athletic achievements of Nate Roberts and the high standards of athletic excellence and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, which distinguishes Roberts as Oklahoma’s best high school football player this season.
Roberts capped an historic season with the Washington Warriors by winning the Class 2A-I state title over Millwood, 7-6. The win marked the fourth state football title for Washington. Under the leadership and guidance of head coach Brad Beller, Roberts helped lead the team to a perfect, 14-0 record on their way to the state title.
During the season, Roberts accounted for 978 yards on 52 receptions at tight end with 14 touchdowns. Roberts totaled 459 ‘yards after contact’ on the season. For his career, Roberts has amassed 2,512 yards receiving on 124 receptions with 34 touchdowns. Roberts is a three-time state champion in football with a record of 58-1. Roberts caught the winning touchdown in the championship game and is the all-time leading receiver at WHS.

The Shelter Insurance Mr. Football Oklahoma Award is voted on by members of the media to include print, radio, and television across Oklahoma. Ballots are sent to more than 40 members and voting takes place over a month-long period. Voting ended on January 8th, 2025.
