The Wildcats are enjoying a solid season under head coach Kaci Stand.

“We have some hard-working girls and I’m excited to see what these girls are going to do this year on the field,” said coach Stand.

Quapaw has eight wins on the season and is poised for more as the regular season comes to a close. One player who is enjoying a great year is Daya Boman. Boman is a junior this season and has been playing softball since the age of six.

“I love how all the coaches are very supportive and push me every single day to be the best version of myself,” said Boman.

Coach Stand said Boman is the spark that gets things going.

“She helps us get going each inning starting at lead off this year and she’s definitely a solid player on the field and a great student in the classroom,” said Stand.

Bowman said it takes a team to win games and she loves her teammates at QHS.

“We are pretty decent with lots of room for improvement. We are putting in a lot of work and effort during practices. They make me laugh and have fun playing the sport I love,” Boman said. “The teammate that impresses me the most is Kyleigh Redden. She has improved so much in the past year, and she makes this sport we share so fun and enjoyable.”

Boman also plays on the varsity basketball team and runs track in the spring. Being part of the track team has been a great experience for Boman and standing on the podium is one of her favorite memories as a student-athlete.

“My favorite memory is going to the state track meet and appearing on the podium,” said Boman.

The future graduate of the Class of 2026 said she hopes to attend college on a scholarship.

“I would like to go to college on some type of sports scholarship. I would like to become a coach and teacher,” said Boman.

Away from the field and classroom, Bowman said she enjoys catching up on sleep, and hanging out with her close friends.
