When the Lady Bulldoggers take the court this season, the Dewey faithful will look to freshman point guard/shooting guard Presley Smith to lead the team this season. Smith may only be a freshman, but she will likely lead the team in scoring this season.

“The thing that I am looking forward to most this season is creating new bonds, friendships, and new memories with my teammates,” said Smith.

Building those bonds started when Smith stepped on campus and started practicing with the team. Today, they are a solid group and only getting closer as the season approaches.

“The thing I love most about my teammates is the way we support each other. We always have each other’s backs,” said Smith.

Also a cross country and track athlete, Smith said she enjoys competing and enjoys serving in STUCO. Smith is currently the vice president of her class and credits her parents for always encouraging her to grow as a person off the court.

“My parents have been a very big influence in my life teaching me everything I know about basketball and how to grow as an individual off the court,” said Smith.

Personal goals for this season include finishing with a winning record.

“I also want to continue to grow not only as a basketball player, but as an overall person,” said Smith.

In her free time Smith enjoys spending time with family and friends.
