OUTLOOK
After a couple of seasons with a younger team, head coach Jordan Sweeney returns a veteran squad with experience and grit.
“This year we will have a veteran team, returning all of our starters and several bench players. Our players have a lot of varsity experience that will benefit us throughout the season. We return a few playmakers and will have more size than last year. Overall, we have a lot of potential,” said Sweeney.
Bradee Rutherford (Jr.) is a VYPE Top 100 selectee and someone the Bulldogs will lean on this season for production on the offensive end of the court. Last season Rutherford averaged 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.9 steals, and 1.9 assists. Rutherford posted several 30-plus point games last season. Jayden Jones (Sr.) will join Rutherford at guard where he averaged 10.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals a game. The tandem will be tough to stop.
“ ”Stone Taylor (So.) is an exciting young guard looking to make his presence felt this season. As a freshman he averaged 5.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.4 steals. Also look for Rhiver Davis (Sr.) to pitch in 5.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists this season. At forward the Bulldogs will look to Braden Jumper (Sr.) and Wylie Robertson (Sr.) for production from the wing. Jumper averaged 4.7 points with 3.0 rebounds while Robertson accounted for 3.9 points and 3.1 rebounds a game.
Other players to watch include Kenan Garcia (Jr.), Zayne Henderson (So.), Braxin Henderson (So.), Ryan Taylor (Jr.), Caleb McGuire (Sr.), Gavin Tate (Sr.), and Michael Rogers (So.).
