OUTLOOK
The excitement is growing as the Wildcats look to make this season one of their best in recent memory. Head coach Chadd Gehrke said he’s excited about the raw talent on the roster and the potential this team has to be good.
“We have a group that is coachable and wants to learn. I saw a lot of good things this summer which is encouraging leading into this season. The team and the town are eager to get the program back to where it was a few years ago,” said Gehrke.
VYPE Top 100 selectee Audra Coblentz (Sr.) averaged 8.9 points and 4.5 rebounds a game. Coblentz shows great drive and leadership for the Wildcats.
“She’s always giving 100 percent and always wants to be the best. I just took the Chouteau job this year, so I’ve only seen her this summer and on tape. She is a game changer, and you can tell when she isn’t in the game. Her work ethic and coachability will propel her into a strong senior season this year,” said Gehrke.
“ ”Presley Inglett (Jr.) averaged 5.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.8 steals a game. Inglett’s role is expected to increase this season. Also keep an eye on Bristol Inglett (So.) who averaged 4.1 points and 4.0 rebounds a game as a freshman.
Other players to watch include Jaiden Dixon (Sr.), Kaynee Alberty (Jr.), Addy Still (So.), Pasleigh Garcie (So.), Natalie Talavera (So.), Kara Plank (So.), Tionna Battle (Fr.), Paytience Messer (Fr.), Rylee Detweiler (Fr.), Peyton Blake (Fr.), Rielynn Hurley (Fr.), and Emierah Yang (Fr.).
“We have four players that saw varsity playing time last year that we expect big things from in Coblentz, P. Inglett, Alberty, and B. Inglett. With a good freshman group coming in along with a few new players we’ve added to the team, I think we have a whole new vibe going into this season,” said Gehrke.
