Salina’s Hannah Bryant
Hannah Bryant has been a cheerleader since she was in first grade. It is something she values highly in her life.
“I always loved watching the high school girls cheer on Friday nights when I was younger, and I was just fascinated by the sport itself,” Bryant said. “I’m motivated to be my best because I know there are younger girls out there watching me, just like I used to look up to the older cheerleaders. I want to set a positive example and inspire them to achieve their best.”
Bryant has had great role models, one of whom stands out to her the most.
“I have always looked up to Annie Weston ever since I was a little girl,” said Bryant. “As I got older and got the opportunity to cheer alongside her, I started to recognize her leadership skills, dedication, and passion for cheerleading. She consistently demonstrates hard work and perseverance, both on and off the field/mat, and has become a true inspiration to me. Watching her succeed at the collegiate level motivates me to push myself and strive for excellence in everything I do.”
“ ”Cheer tends to be a tight-knit sport, which Bryant can attest to.
“My teammates mean everything to me! They’re not just friends; they’re my support system, my cheer family,” she said. “Together, we share the highs and lows of the season, and they push me to be my very best. The bond we have created through practices and games is something special, and it is so awesome to share the same love and passion for such an amazing sport with so many others. I thank God every day for giving me cheer, without cheer I wouldn’t have the best friends I do today! Plus, the memories we make together are priceless!”
Bryant’s favorite memory, besides getting to cheer on her little brother in his sports, is just one example of the bond she shares with her teammates.
“I got put into a stunt group with my best friends and we all met up after school to work on a stunt sequence we had been struggling with,” she said. “We worked on that sequence for hours on end and when we finally hit it, it was the best feeling in the world. Definitely a core memory.”
After graduation, Bryant plans to continue cheering at the collegiate level while studying business.
