Miami’s Aislynn Stephens
When Miami High School senior Aislynn Stephens steps onto the pitch this season, she will be playing her final year of prep soccer. The senior started playing the game when she was eight years old. Through March the Lady Wardogs are 3-2 and ready for the long stretch in April.
“One thing I’m looking forward to most this season is being able to play soccer with the same people I’ve grown up playing soccer with,” said Stephens.
Being with her teammates and competing is what Stephens enjoys most about the game. Over her career, several teammates have left an impression on her. This season one teammate has certainly left an impression on Stephens and her teammates.
“One teammate that has really stood out to me this year is Makenzie Temple, her effort and willingness to never give up definitely shows off and on the field,” Stephens said. “A teammate you can always count on to give you a good laugh would be Carly Beckwith.”
The Lady Wardogs have a strong bond and you see it on the field.
“What I love most about my teammates is that I can rely on them no matter what. They always know how to make people laugh and will support you off and, on the field,” said Stephens.
Once her playing days come to an end and she’s walked the graduation stage, Stephens said she has a plan for life once high school comes to an end. “After graduating high school, I plan on going to college to get my RN and become a travel nurse,” said Stephens.
