Miami’s Carli Beckwith

VYPE: How long have you played soccer, and what first got you interested in the sport?

Carli Beckwith: Nine years. I started playing soccer to give myself something to work at and learn how to be a good teammate, helping me in the future.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite memory in your time competing for Miami High School?

CB: My favorite memory of soccer in high school is pregame, getting ready with my group of girls.

VYPE: What motivates you to be your best?

CB: I like to make my parents proud and attempt to be a better athlete than my brother.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite opponent to compete against? If so, why?

CB: I like playing against Grove because there is nothing better than beating the Ridgerunners.

VYPE: What do your teammates mean to you?

CB: My teammates are what makes sports fun. A lot of us have been playing together, or against each other, since we were eight or nine years old.

VYPE: What is your go to post-game meal?

CB: Arby’s.

VYPE: Who do you look to as a role model and why?

VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school?

CB: Math.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

CB: I would like to have a degree shortly after I finish high school and begin being a travel nurse for the next five years to give myself a chance to experience all the things while setting myself up for my future.
