PAWHUSKA HUSKIES
Coach: MATT HENNESY

9-3

OFFENSE

If you don’t know by now, there are a few things you can expect from a Matt Hennesy football team. First, they will play hard and fast. Second, they will play with a winner’s attitude. Third, they will look to physically dominate you. Finally, they are going to do things with players and formations that will keep their opponents guessing. “Although we graduated some good players, we return a group that is hungry to prove they have what it takes. Being in our 8th year running the same systems, the standards have been established and are understood. Our team’s commitment and expectations have not changed and neither have our community’s. We look forward to an exciting year of Huskie Football,” said coach Hennesy. Vann Wildcat (6-3, 195, Jr.) is a physical running back who rushed for 598 yards on 90 carries, scoring seven touchdowns. Wildcat will benefit from guys like Jaxon Arnett (6-2, 255, Sr.) on the line. Arnett is a four-year starter and can play all five OL positions. Logan Cass (5-8, 140, Sr.) and Corlin Cass (5-9, 145, Sr.) are two slot receivers who are both great wrestlers and contributors in the secondary. Kane Foreman (6-4, 215, Sr.) will likely start at QB after transferring from Copan. Adjusting to the 11-man game is his priority and coach Hennesy said he is doing very well.

DEFENSE

The defense returns nine starters that includes Jimmy Wildcat (6-2, 185, So.) at linebacker where he made 117 tackles as a freshman starting at the varsity level. V. Wildcat will help lead the defense at linebacker and is the leading tackler returning to the defense. Vann made 123 tackles and 10 TFLs last year. Outside linebacker Dane Jensen (6-4, 195, Jr.) is an aggressive player who is great at getting to the QB and setting the edge. Jensen accounted for seven sacks last season. Jaydin Henley (6-4, 225, Jr.) starts at defensive end where he recorded four sacks last year with 32 tackles and 13 TFLs. Leighton Shaw (6-1, 265, Sr.) is a three-year starter at nose guard and someone who will face a double-team on every play. Tripp Walker (6-2, 155, Jr.) is a track star who worked his way back into the lineup after an injury placed him on the sideline. Jarek Edwards (6-5, 175, Sr.) is a transfer from Bartlesville who can play CB or WR and brings tremendous size to both positions. Other players to watch include Jenson Snodgrass (5-9, 175, So.), Paycen Kelly (6-1, 155, So.), and Jack Grooms (6-0, 155, Jr.). The coaching staff includes Mark Frye – AHC/DC, Tyler Hughes – S&C Coord /OC / OL, Jason Snodgrass – STC/RB, Craig Walker – WR, Michael Houghton – DL, Noah Wilson – LB, and Marshall Foreman – OLB.
