Q&A with Caney Valley’s Riley Brooks
VYPE: When did you first start playing softball and what grade are you in?
RB: I first started playing softball when I was 7 years old. I am a sophomore this year.
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates at Caney Valley?
Riley Brooks: I love how we get along with each other on and off the field, especially on the field we all work well together.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
RB: My Dad inspires me the most, he’s always been there for me and is my number one fan. He supports me in everything I do, especially softball.
VYPE: What are your expectations for the season?
RB: My expectation for this season is to make it to regionals and hopefully super regionals.
VYPE: Favorite subject in school and favorite teacher from any grade?
RB: Science is my favorite subject, and my favorite teacher was Coach Fox my 8th grade year.
VYPE: What position do you play?
RB: I play shortstop for school ball but outfield and shortstop for travel ball.
VYPE: What other clubs or groups do you belong to at school?
RB: I’m in Student Council and FFA.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
RB: I love spending time with my family and close friends as much as possible. I also like to hunt and fish when I’m not playing softball.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
RB: After I graduate, I would love to play softball for a college team. That’s always been my biggest dream.
