INOLA LADY LONGHORNS
Coach: TRAVIS WHEELER
2024-25 Record: 10-15
OUTLOOK
When the Longhorns take the court this season, they will have a familiar look as several players make their way back to the floor for head coach Travis Wheeler.
“We return our core group from last year with some young players stepping in this year. Has this group gains experience look for them to be very competitive come playoff time,” coach Wheeler said.
VYPE Top 100 selectee Makiah Barnett (5-4, Sr.) averaged 10 points and 3.0 assists last season and is expected to lead the team from her guard spot. Barnett will play point guard and is capable of putting up big numbers.
“Her speed and quickness give defenders trouble especially in the open floor,” coach Wheeler said.
Another guard to watch is Tessa Groff (5-9, Jr.) who averaged 8.5 points and 2.0 assists per contest. Groff brings size and a high IQ to the floor for the Longhorns. Look for Groff to have an impact inside as well.
Other players to watch include Megan Bell (5-3, Sr.) at guard, Izzy Helling (5-9, Jr.) at forward and Brynlee Pratt (5-3, Jr.) at guard. Bell averaged 3.5 points a game last season, while Helling accounted for 2.0 points and 3.0 rebounds with Pratt going for 3.0 points and 2.0 rebounds a game.
