CHOUTEAU-MAZIE WILDCATS
Coach: TRAVIS BRANNON
2024-25 Record: 8-17
OUTLOOK
As several players make their way back to the lineup for head coach Travis Brannon, players and fans are more optimistic coming into the season.
“This looks to be a very promising season. With four varsity players returning and the addition of several new players, we have a very optimistic outlook for the upcoming season,” coach Brannon said.
VYPE Top 100 selectee Lucas Grossman (6-3, Sr.) is back at forward where he averaged 14 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game last season. Grossman returns as the teams leading scorer and someone who can dominate a game. Coach Brannon said of Grossman, “Lucas has dedicated much of the offseason to time in the gym and weight room. He looks to have an exceptional senior season.”
The Miller boys are back as well. Bradon Miller (5-8, Sr.), a guard, averaged 6.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game while Landon Miller (6-0, Sr.), a forward, averaged 3.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.0 assist per contest. The pair will give the Wildcats two players the team can count on for solid minutes on the court.
Kayden Atkins (5-8, So.) is a young, exciting guard who averaged 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and one assist as a freshman. Atkins could play an important role in the overall success of the team and is one of several sophomores looking to get on the court this year.
Out of that sophomore class, look for Carter Troyer (6-0, So.) at guard, Dayton Tolleson (5-8, So.) at guard, Carson Channon (6-0, So.) at forward, Traceston Asbill (6-0, So.) at forward, Mason Yoder (5-10, So.) at forward, Troy Yoder (5-9, So.) at guard, Jakobi Dixon (5-9, So.) at guard and Kale Dixon (5-10, So.) at guard.
Troyer has been called a “gifted scorer” and someone who can help the varsity team this season. Also look for Colby Owens (6-0, Jr.) at guard and Kyler Lynch (6-1, Sr.) at forward.
Expect the Wildcats to compete every night as they look to continue building their program and develop talent from within.
