VYPE: What’s the first thing everybody should know about Barrett Merciez?
Barrett Merciez: That I am very passionate about baseball.
VYPE: Do you play any sports other than baseball?
BM: I played a little bit of basketball and football growing up, but now I only play baseball.
VYPE: Are you involved with any other activities, clubs or hobbies?
BM: I like to play poker, golf, and spend time with my friends in my free time.
VYPE: What’s your favorite accomplishment so far?
BM: My favorite accomplishment so far is committing to play baseball at the next level.
VYPE: What does it mean to you to be a Bartlesville Bruin?
BM: It means being a part of something bigger than myself and making sure to represent the program the right way.
VYPE: Do you come from a “sporty” family?
BM: Yes, my brother played baseball at Missouri State, and my dad played football there, too.
VYPE: What’s the greatest challenge you’ve faced in your athletic career?
BM: My greatest challenge has been coming back from my shoulder surgery.
VYPE: How did you overcome it, and what did you learn from it?
BM: It has taught me patience and discipline, and to trust the plan God has for me.
