BARTLESVILLE BRUINS
Coach: Tommy DeSalme
23-24 Record: 3-20
OUTLOOK
The Bruins are taking steps in a positive direction as this group focuses on improving each and every opportunity on the court. Head coach Tommy DeSalme has the teams attention and has made progress with the implementation of a system that will serve the Bruins as they work toward getting the program back on track.
“We hope to learn how to compete every single possession of every single practice and game,” said DeSalme.
With only one senior on the roster this season, the Bruins will lean on some underclassmen for quality minutes. Nash Zervas (5-9, Sr.) will play guard giving the Bruins some experience in the backcourt. Dennis Duncan (5-10, Jr.) and Hudson Eads (6-0, Jr.) are two guards that play hard on both ends of the court.
“ ”Also look for Kameron Chambers (5-6, Jr.) and Trae Collins (5-9, Jr.) to contribute to the overall success of the team this year. Other juniors on the roster include Carson Covington (5-11, Jr.) at forward, Titus Huck (6-2, Jr.) at forward, Bryce Lee (5-10, Jr.) at guard, and Skyler Carter (5-10, Jr.) at guard.
The sophomore class is not as deep but does include two quality athletes in Zachary Gilliland (5-11, So.) at forward and Mason Sutton (5-10, So.) at guard.
The new class entering their first season of varsity basketball is deep. Nine freshmen are on the roster for coach DeSalme, and he expects them to be ready to compete this season. That group includes Brycen Gutierrez (6-0, Fr.), Hunter Holmes (6-1, Fr.), Jordan Turner (6-1, Fr.), Jaden Turner (5-8, Fr.), Michael Kent (5-11, Fr.), Daeton Stevens (6-2, Fr.), Caleb Osborn (5-10, Fr.), Luke Massey (6-0, Fr.), and Kim Maire (5-9, Fr.).
