9 Questions with Vinita’s Emma Pigeon – Presented by Tammy Roach, All-State Insurance

Vinita’s Emma Pigeon

Emma Pigeon is a senior at Vinita High School. She is a point guard and guard for the Lady Hornets basketball team. Emma also runs in track, cross country and is on the VHS pom squad.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Emma Pigeon: Basketball has taught me to work well with others even when it becomes difficult. 

VYPE:Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?

EP: I look up to Caitlyn Clark because she is hard working and does what she loves even with negative competitors.

VYPE:Who inspires you and why?

EP: My grandma Cindy Armstrong inspires me the most because she always pushes me to my full extent and has always been there for me.

VYPE:What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

EP: My best friend Lauren has left the biggest impression on me because she has always been so supportive of me and always builds me up when I’m at my lowest.

VYPE:When and how did you first get into playing your sport?

EP: The reason I got into basketball was because my grandma and my coach pushed me towards it and I will never regret that they did.

VYPE:What has been your favorite memory of playingbasketball?

EP: Going to team camps in the summer and getting to know my teammates better.

VYPE:You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

EP: The place that I would love to go for vacation would be Hawaii and I would take my two best friends.

VYPE:What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

EP: The best advice anyone has ever given me was you can always try harder and be better and to never give up when things get uncomfortable or difficult.
